Some of you that have been following my blog since the very beginning may remember that I started college as a fashion design student. Although I dreamed of designing and creating original garments and designs long before I started college, I did not have any experience sewing. My favorite class my first semester was CTD 141, where I finally learned to sew! My professor who first taught me how to sew previously worked in a Barbour factory constructing beautiful jackets before she moved to the USA to teach, and I was so fortunate to learn from her! Her attention to detail and emphasis on quality of clothing, as learned from Barbour, still remains with me today. My love and admiration of the Barbour brand only grew after taking her class and learning firsthand about the hard work and love that goes into each Barbour product. Each skill I learned from her actually helped me create my own collection of fashion designs last spring (see here).

I have admired the Barbour brand for so many years and absolutely love their classic jackets and outerwear. I could write pages and pages on why everyone should own a Barbour jacket, but one of the biggest reasons I love my Barbour pieces so much is because of how classic they are. Every time I purchase a Barbour item, I know it is something I will wear countless times and keep forever. I love fashion pieces that stand the test of time and transition from season to season year after year!

Another one of my favorite things about Barbour jackets is their perfect blending of style and function. When the temperatures drop and winter comes, it can be more challenging to keep your daily outfits looking stylish while also staying warm. Barbour jackets are my favorite way to stay warm while also not sacrificing style in my outfits. I brought my newest Barbour obsession, the International Tourer Polarquilt, with me to The Greenbrier last weekend, and I don't think I would have survived the cold temperatures without it! The beautiful quilted design accented by the chic belt detailing around the waist lends itself to being worn so many ways. I layered this jacket on top of almost every outfit I wore all weekend. In the photos above, I bundled up and paired it with a few of my favorite finds from the J. Crew Black Friday sale: this red skirt (perfect for the holidays!), this striped turtleneck, and this plaid scarf. I love how the navy color of the Barbour jacket goes with nearly everything in my closet and adds a touch of understated elegance to every outfit.

We took these outfit photos on the front porch of our gorgeous home for the weekend at The Greenbrier, The Colonnade House. How amazing is the view from the porch?! I love how you can see both the Main Entrance and North Entrance of the hotel from one vantage point. Wishing I was still sitting there sipping hot chocolate!

P.s. For those of you like myself that love seeing the hands and hearts behind fashion brands, you have to watch this incredible video about the making of Barbour jackets! I am in awe of their attention to detail, love, and care that goes into every item. The design student in me would die to see all of this in person!
