Sweetly Southern: Maravea Dresses
Is there anything as sweetly southern as a little white dress in the summertime?
A few weeks ago, my friend Elisabeth introduced me to Maravea, a line of dresses designed and made in the South, and I have fallen in love with their white dresses and the vision behind their brand. Catherine Johnson, the founder and designer behind the Maravea brand, found inspiration for the collection from her days spent along the coast in the low country, and her hope is that each Maravea dress would reflect the grace and beauty of the coast, a place where her heart is happiest. I think she has done a fabulous job creating a line of classic, feminine, sundresses that make me wish for endless summer days. I will always choose classics over trends, and in today's world of fast fashion (where trends seem to come and go faster than you can blink), it is so refreshing to hear Catherine's story and her dedication to creating a line of stylish and timeless dresses.
When wearing a little white dress, there are two ways I love to style it- either with pops of color (see here) or all black. Today I stuck to a classic black and white look, and I wore both Maravea dresses with black lace up wedges (wish these were still available, but I found a similar pair here), this black crossbody bag, and these white earrings. These dresses are a little bit longer than some of the other dresses I love to wear, but pairing them with wedges and statement earrings keeps the outfit youthful and fun!
