There is so much fashion and style inspiration to be drawn from the natural world that the Lord created and has surrounded us with. When I think "safari," I think of Africa and all the beautiful animals that roam the vast terrain. I think of breathtaking sunsets and dark night skies filled with countless stars. From all of the landscapes to each of the animals, there are so many prints and textures that make their way from the wilderness into the world of fashion. 

After seeing the runway filled with so many elegant and chic safari looks in the past few seasons (Ralph Lauren's Spring 2015 was my absolute favorite), I have really fallen in love with the "sophisticated safari" trend. As one who adores color and bright statement pieces, I am also very much drawn to neutrals and earth tones as well, and I just love this trend. The casual elegance of it is ideal for Spring and Summer. This look is really easy to recreate with clothes and accessories already in your wardrobe. Mixing neutrals like white and brown with green instantly gives off a “safari” vibe. This J Crew panama hat is a summer essential, in my opinion, and it really completes the safari look. [I love finding several ways to wear an item before I purchase it, and I think this hat is also perfect for days at the beach! It would look perfect with a colorful sundress and gladiator sandals!]

1. Stick to neutrals and earth tones, especially darker shades of green

2. Wear something with a collar

3. Add a hat or belt (I love this one from J Crew)

4. Layer a natural necklace on top (take a look at @boho beads on Instagram- their designs perfect for this)
